Spring 30x30 Recap

Oh look. It's a gazillion pictures of me again. I'll spare you the first 15 outfits (you can see those here) and just recap the second half of this 30x30 Challenge.

MVPs
  • rust flats
  • skinny jeans
  • Clinique Citrus Rose lipstick (I usually ignored it because I thought it would be too orangey, but now I love it!)
  • simple necklaces (I've started wearing my gold locket and silver/pearl necklace from Mexico a LOT more now!)
  • skinny belts
  • my back porch (the new camera was nice too)
Most Unneccessary
  • black cardigan, two striped cardigans
  • yellow prints - yellow/grey dress and yellow tunic were each only worn once
  • crazy cold weather that plagued the first half of this challenge
  • the multiple tumbles my new camera took off the railing... oops.
I really loved doing this challenge with Megan. I know people always say they struggle through it (and yes, I did have more than a couple bad days), but I actually kinda like the limited choices. It makes life so much easier.

I hope you all have enjoyed the outfit photos over the last month or so.... I think it may become a semi-permanent feature on the blog (you'll notice I changed 'the 30' tag to 'outfit' already!). And for those of you who are sick of seeing my ugly mug everyday..... no worries, regular posting of non-Danielle-related items will begin soon.

Wish I Was There

Alas, didn't get tickets. (sobbing quietly to myself)

This is Hayley's shirt, by the way.

Joey B's

I'll admit, I don't show much love for South County. Nor do I show much love for casual dining chain restaurants. My loyalties lie with the city. And with local restaurants (in the city). So when my family decided to visit (the just opened) Joey B's in Concord Plaza... I wasn't expecting much.

To be fair, Joey B's is local. And it is in the city. They've got locations on the Hill and the Landing. I guess I just wrote them off because they don't look 'authentic.' When you've got a menu that has everything - pasta, pizza, salads, burgers, sandwiches, desserts, meatloaf, etc etc etc -you can't really blame me for being skeptical.

But the new location has a nice patio (that I planned on sitting on until I realized I would have to fight off the cicadas. Yikes.) and is close to my parents' house so I decided to give it a try. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised.

The service gets an A+. They just opened and look like they have a lot of people in training - including our waitress. Usually when your server is in training, there is this other server following them around awkwardly. But at Joey B's it wasn't awkward at all. In fact, they both introduced themselves and told us that she was training... and they were super friendly and brought me a new drink every time I was low.

Speaking of drinks.... I had an Arnold Palmer. I forgot how much I liked those. Hmmmm.

The food was equally good. HUGE portions, but good. We had a ginormous stack of onion rings for an appetizer and I had the pulled pork sandwich for dinner. Delicious.

You can bet I'll be back to try their burgers - they won the St. Louis Magazine Burger Bracket!

Wiig Worthy? Day 30.

Day Thirty

That's it! Megan and I are done! No more 'these thirty items only'. I'll have a recap of the last 15 outfits and some thoughts on the whole challenge in general (you know, it is my second time around the block so I'm pretty much an expert now..... [sarcasm]).

I'm channeling Kristen Wiig in Bridesmaids today, or trying to at least. The movie is funny, of course, but the wardrobe. Gaaah. It's perfect. Stephanie did this great post inspired by Kristen's outfits in the film and I'm obsessed. I want her clothes.

dress, blazer and flats from Target. no idea where the belt is from. necklace gifted from my parents' trip to Mexico.

Freaky Facebook

Facebook is trying to identify a face in this wet board. Not gonna lie. Kinda freaky.

Receptions Are The Best

I haven't done a Wedding Wednesday post in a while (pesky outfit posts taking up all my blog time), but I've got wedding fever this week as two of my very great friends are getting married on Saturday.

I'm hoping for a reception that feels a little like this one featured on Landlocked Bride:
And with the company I keep, I think it's very likely. Hopefully I'll have some fun pictures to share next week!

Many Ways of Mustard. Day 29.

Day Twenty Nine

I love my mustard cardigan from H&M. Maybe because it matches everything. Maybe because I got it in NYC last summer and (believe it or not) it was my first ever purchase from H&M.

mustard cardigan from H&M. top, belt and white jeans from Target. flats by Corso Como. necklace a gift from my parents' trip to Mexico.

This outfit was inspired by J's guest post on Work Your Closet. Hello mustard inspiration! I bookmarked this and plan on imitating each and every one of those looks. Here are some other times I've worn my mustard cardi:
Seriously. I might be obsessed.
